The Star Center will host a War of 1812 interpretive encampment on the rear lawn of the 18th Century Chestertown Customs House, located at the foot of High Street. Featuring historical interpreters and demonstrations of military encampment activities, this educational program is focused around soldiers of the 21st Regiment of Maryland Militia active during the conflict with Great Britain between 1812 to 1815. In addition, a public memorial ceremony will be held at the Caulk’s Field Monument on Sunday morning in remembrance of those who participated in the Battle of Caulk’s Field during the night of August 30-31, 1814.
