The skipjack SIGSBEE is a traditional Chesapeake Bay workboat built in 1901 for oyster dredging and cargo transport. After decades of commercial use, she was restored and is now operated by the Living Classrooms Foundation. Today, SIGSBEE sails the Chesapeake and Delaware Bays as an educational vessel, teaching students about regional ecology, maritime history, and the oyster industry through hands-on experiences.
