Join us for the inaugural public presentation of “African American History on the Chesapeake Bay,” an hour-long, interactive presentation exploring the unique contributions, trials, and stories of African Americans in the Chesapeake Bay region. Developed in partnership with the National Park Service’s Chesapeake Bay Gateways Network and Washington College’s CV Starr Center for the Study of the American Experience, this presentation takes advantage of the Sultana Education Foundation’s innovative Swain GIS Theatre, which projects images and animations on a 1,000 square-foot, high-resolution map of the Chesapeake Bay and MidAtlantic. The presentation is limited to 75 participants on a first-come-first-served basis.
