Guests to Downrigging have the opportunity to peruse the Chestertown Farmers Market, twice recognized as the best farmers market in Maryland by the American Farmland Trust. The market occupies much of High Street (Chestertown’s principal commercial artery) on Saturday mornings and traces its roots back to 1762 when it was formally established by the Maryland State Legislature.
